I was gonna walk away gracefully and not say anything. But when I received a reminder about my vehicle being serviced, I decided that others and the store manager should hear of my experience, so I messaged them back the following... Well, you guys told me for about 3 oil changes straight, about 15,000 miles, that I needed to get new brakes and rotors for upwards off 600$. Everytime I showed up the manager told me it would be due next oil change. After the third time, I knew I was gonna be taken advantage of if I continued coming to your shop. I ended up going elsewhere and surprisingly enough, I can probably get away with another 15,000 miles with the brakes I have. All this happened dealing directly with the newer manager. You were not honest and I will not be back ever. Thanks
Hi there David, I am sorry for your experience. I did review your history of oil changes today. We measure all brakes (and any safety related items) during every oil change. This includes measuring the brakes. Your rear brakes were measured at 4mm in thickness. Around 5mm is when we traditionally let folks know b/c the DOT standard for pad replacement in 3mm. I don't doubt you may have had 15000 miles left on them depending how you drive the car. Either way, we simply let you know, as we do with everyone, when a maintenance repair is coming up in the future. I am sorry if you felt this was in any way misleading. Sincerely, Tom (the owner)
